From the West Coast to West Wales.
The West Coast Pirates are delighted to announce that halfback Tyler Hunt has signed with UK Betfred League One outfit the West Wales Raiders for 2019.
The 18-year-old, who was named captain of the Pirates for the 2018 SG Ball season will link up with his former Rockingham Sharks coach Kim Williams at the Raiders.
“Tyler is an outstanding young player who will bring exceptional leadership qualities to the Raiders 2019 squad,” Williams said.
“I have followed Tyler’s career with interest since my time as head coach of the Rockingham Sharks and am pleased to have the opportunity to guide him through the next stage of his career.
“We are very excited to have him on board as he continues his rugby league journey.”
After a breakout 2017 season where he won the NRL WA’s Rookie of the Year Award and led the Sharks to the WA Smarter Than Smoking Premiership Grand Final, Hunt went down with a back injury that saw him miss the majority of the 2018 SG Ball season and entire Premiership season.
From all of us here at the West Coast Pirates, we wish Tyler the best of luck in the UK and look forward to following his journey.
