Entering its fourth year, the Specialist High Schools competition will begin with the Year 8 carnival tomorrow at Curtin Stadium – the home of the West Coast Pirates SG Ball side.
Round 1 of the Year 10 competition begins next week with Grand Finalists Atwell College taking on minor premiers Thornlie SHS. Both sides have been training hard and will be confident of taking the trophy off current champions Rockingham SHS.
Rockingham SHS continue to go from strength to strength and will hope they can improve on last year’s victories in Years 8, 9 and 10 as well as two regional competition wins. They hope to finish the year off with a tour of New Zealand, making 2013 an interesting challenge for Coach Isaac Thomas and his players.
Carine SHS (pictured above at a beach session) and Clarkson CHS continue to develop numerous representative players and have increased the sizes of all their training squads which bodes well for the future. Both teams are hopeful of some success in the Year 9 competition in particular.
