West Coast Pirates duo Damian Karini and Devontay Tutai-Tauti will make their WA Smarter Than Smoking Premiership debuts for the Ellenbrook Rabbitohs on Saturday against the Willagee Bears

The West Coast Pirates would like to congratulate Damian Karini (2019) and Devontay Tutai-Tauti (2018-2019) on being named to make their WA Smarter Than Smoking Premiership debuts for the Ellenbrook Rabbitohs this weekend.

The duo, who have represented the Pirates U18’s SG Ball Cup side will make the step up to Premiership grade for the Rabbitohs’ clash against the Willagee Bears at Charlottes Pavilion on Saturday, 6 July.

Karini, who has impressed for Ellenbrook’s U16’s and U17’s has been knocking on the door for a Premiership call-up after playing five games in Reserve Grade.

Tutai-Tauti, a former Rabbitohs junior, meanwhile, makes the move over from Kalamunda after playing Pirates Youth Cup and Val Murphy Trophy for the Bulldogs in 2018.

The duo will be two of four debutants in coach Jarek Goebel’s side, with Jona Chase and Joseph Simpkins also named.

They join fellow Pirates Billy Judge, Dylan Estreich (South Perth Lions), Juvon Tupou (Rockingham Sharks) and Luke Callan in making their Premiership debuts in 2019.
